  1. SuccessWare Index Driver (SIx Driver) Maintenance Update

  6. The enclosed programs (SIX-UPD.EXE and NG-UPD.EXE) will update your
  7. DBFSIX.LIB and DBFSIX.NG, respectively, to the 2am version from either the
  8. original midnight release or the 1am version.
  9.  
  10. Problems fixed in the 1am version:
  11.  
  12. *  Intermittent problems encountered when a VM swap occurs during an update
  13.      (before record pointer is moved or dbCommit() executed).  Index
  14.      incorrectly updated.
  15.  
  16. *  Temporary delay on PgDn in browse when last record in index falls within
  17.      SCOPE range (set with SET SCOPETOP/SET SCOPEBOTTOM, sx_SetScope()).
  18.  
  19. *  Small difference in handling of SOFTSEEK.
  20.  
  21. Additional fixes/changes in the 2am version
  22.  
  23. *  Algorithm changed for handling GO BOTTOM within a SCOPE.  Much improved.
  24.  
  25. *  If record pointer was on a record outside of the SCOPE, SKIP did not move
  26.      record pointer back into SCOPE.  Corrected.
  27.  
  28. *  FoxPro stores aliased fields in index expressions using a period (.) to
  29.      separate the database and field (TABLE.FIELD) instead of the standard
  30.      arrow (->) used by Clipper (TABLE->FIELD).  This caused an argument
  31.      error opening indexes created or modified by FoxPro that contained
  32.      aliased fields.  This is now correctly translated.
  33.  
  34. *  SEEKS on a character value longer than the index key length failed.  SEEK
  35.      values are now trimmed to key length.
  36.  
  37. *  Doing an APPEND FROM with a source database that has a structural .CDX
  38.      containing tags with aliased fields in the key expressions caused an
  39.      "Alias Not Found" error, due to that fact that the alias is not added
  40.      to the symbol table when the database is opened this way.  The
  41.      structural .CDX is no longer opened when a database is opened for an
  42.      APPEND FROM.
  43.  
  44. *  The Norton Guide (DBFSIX.NG) is now Norton Guide compatible! <g>
  45.  
  46. To update the SIx Driver library, copy SIX-UPD.EXE to the directory where
  47. DBFSIX.LIB resides.  Type SIX-UPD to run the update.  The original DBFSIX.LIB
  48. will be copied to DBFSIX.LI$.
  49.  
  50. To update the SIx Driver Norton Guide file, copy NG-UPD.EXE to the directory
  51. where DBFSIX.NG is located.  Type NG-UPD to run the update.  The original
  52. DBFSIX.NG will be copied to DBFSIX.NG$
